Welcome to my page and my first of what I hope will be many many posts.  I started this blog not only as an outlet for my thoughts, but to share with you the amazing journey that I am having with the Paleo/Primal/Caveman Lifestyle.

I wasn’t always the skinniest girl, the most fit girl,or the healthiest girl in my family. I didn’t participate in sports or anything that kept me moving and active. It just wasn’t my thing.  From 2005 to 2010 I was pushing 200 pounds, but I was comfortable there.  Married…  two kids…  I was happy right?

The fitness journey started in March of 2011.  My sister bet that she could lose more weight than I could in a month and the winner would get $20.  CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!  I went to the gym and got myself a personal trainer.  I worked my ass off and I won that bet.  Now what?  Remember that comfortable life I was talking about?  It changed shortly after.  Turns out I wasn’t happy and neither was my husband at the time.  So we called it quits.  It’s a rough time for anyone, and I took that anger and frustration out at the gym.

Since then I’ve participated in a number of half marathons and mud runs.  I’ve made new friends who are like-minded with fitness as I am and I am loving life.

So what happens when you start working out?  You eventually hit a plateau.  My workout plan was a whole lotta cardio and some work on the weight machines.  It was fine I suppose.  I maintained my weight, but I was stuck there.  I ate healthy, I was still working out, and I got comfortable again.  Then the Paleo diet and lifting heavy weights happened, and I started seeing results again.  I feel stronger, I have more energy, and the food…  DEE-lish!!

What will you find on this blog?  Majority of it will be pictures of Paleo friendly food and their recipes.  My boyfriend and I love to eat and we eat very well.  There’s nothing like a home cooked meal after a kick butt lifting session.  My hope is that you will be inspired by my weight loss journey and consider making changes to your lifestyle.  Remember, that it takes time to see the results you want, but it’s all so very worth it in the end.
